If you want AI to find you, you need to be on LinkedIn.
Search is changing.
People are no longer scrolling through ten blue links and hunting through pages of results. They’re asking ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Copilot, Claude, and other AI systems for answers directly.
Increasingly, AI decides which people, brands, and ideas get surfaced first.
That changes the game.
A new Meltwater and LinkedIn research report analyzed 9.5 million AI citations across six major AI platforms to understand what AI actually cites and surfaces.
What stood out:
• LinkedIn is one of the most-cited sources in AI-generated answers
• It ranks among the Top 5 cited domains across industries including AI, technology, marketing, HR, and financial services
• 75% of citations come from individual professionals, only 25% from brand pages
• Practical, structured content outperforms generic thought leadership
The takeaway is bigger than “post more on LinkedIn.”
People trust people.
AI increasingly appears to trust people too.
Executive voices, expertise, frameworks, how-to content, and real-world experience are becoming discoverability infrastructure.
Your LinkedIn profile is no longer just a digital resume.
It’s becoming part of your AI search footprint.
The companies and leaders who understand this early may have a significant advantage in the next era of visibility.
The winner is not always the best product.
It’s the clearest story.
